GPX 6000 VS Modded 5000
« on: November 15, 2021, 12:34:53 pm »
I’m wondering what the consensus is on a Modded 5000 vs the GPX 6000.  I’m wondering if the fine gold setting on the 5000 with the front gain turned up along with the frequency adjusted to a higher frequency would produce some of the same results I’m seeing from the GPX 6000 with it ability on smaller somewhat deeper gold.  Any thoughts??

The new mods (GPX) will knock the socks off any of the newer detectors on depth and quietness.
Tested against standard GPX and GPZ.

Thanks Woody, that’s exactly what I was thinking also.  Also, I apologize for being so late in responding.  I have finally gotten out and have been using my modded 5000 more.  I’ve found I’m able to set to Sharp timings and adjust the frequency to lower numbers with the front gain turned up and punch threw some ground I couldn’t touch before.  Found some nice gold at depth.  It certainly isn’t missing much.

Hi Wes, I have been so busy testing the new boards, to get the best possible performance it has been months of 12 hour plus days, two boards have been developed and internal component changes to the detector, I installed a board to an older GP 3000 detector and i could get over how well it worked, I got rid of the GPZ 7000 as the new board performance on a GPX was miles in front. It has been raining continuously here for over a week, when it dries out i will do some video’s.

Be good to hear how your testing goes with this modification.  My 5000 just keeps purring along.
