General Discussion / Re: new generation coils on gp series detectors
« Last post by debongos on February 10, 2019, 09:58:25 pm »
I know this is an old topic but I have a question for anyone who can provide an answer.

Regarding the front end gain mod and just how far it can be tuned up -

Does the increased stability of a double D coil allow the front end gain to be set higher without incurring increased noise as would be the case with a mono?

Information on the new developments / New mods for the GPZ7000 Detectors.

I thought it was about time to get into upgrading the GPZ 7000 detectors, initial test indicates we can make the detector quieter, more sensitive and deeper, we should have video out during February.

General Discussion / Mods for the 5000

Hey Woody, just wondering if there are any additional mods for the GPX 5000 over the past 6 months or so.  Still thinking about modding my 5000 instead of spending 8 grand on a GPZ7000.

Thank you for taking the time to reply however I have been through all the available literature, printed them off, followed them through. This is why I asked for contact with a successful GPX5000 operator who has the upgrade and out there and getting results and who might share there information to help me with a problem or two (few).
Surely there are members here who might contact me!

General Discussion / Re: Interesting test

I have had a bit of time now with the 17x13 evo on my modified 3000. In all but the hottest deep red ground I can run the gain at least 50%. I always run on low frequency as it still manages to pick up the tiniest metal chips, unbelievable some times. Dropping the gain down gets rid of almost all noise. Not bad for a detector that "wouldn't " be able to handle a 17x13 evo! It picked up a quartz specimen at an old mine that yielded just under a gram.

Technical / Re: help on gpx-4000

Hi guys, I am looking at buying a fully modded gpx4000, just wondering if the mods will work using other timings apart from in normal. Ie: sensitive extra & smooth with variable frequency or is just suited for normal timings.
Cheers Joeboy.

New Detector design / Re: Any news?
« Last post by woody on July 14, 2018, 03:10:01 pm »
There is some news, just recently we were granted our Chinese patent and now we are patented in every country. We had our hands tied as we now have legal protection in China if any fake makers start up, look at all the trouble the other detector makers have had over the years with China clones. Not long to go.
