I don't have a 5000, but do have a modded 4500, which is great! Brother has a modded 5000 and is happy with his.

Hi all, so today I ask on the Facebook group how many members have a modded 5000, the first reply back was don’t touch them wtf ,what I don’t understand is why be a member of the group if you don’t like the modded detector , I don’t have a modded detector yet but will be happening soon .

Still working on new detectors, it takes a bucket load of money, but it's all coming along, the time is mainly being taken up in drafting new patents and heavy investment in DSP Digital Signal Processing. We do not exactly when these detectors will be finished but another injection of cash will get it over the line.

It is the 24th of December 2019 so my the time we have built up more circuit boards we will be referring to the new board for SD GP GPX detectors as the 2020 upgrade. Older detectors can be made just as good as, if not better than the newer detectors by swapping out older components and replacing with cutting edge technology as it is made available. I added a new board to an old 2100 detector and it can detect just as good as any of the newer detectors as long as certain criteria are met, timings can be made adjustable and the variable gain board placed just after the input stages makes a huge difference to ground noise suppression and small and large gold detection. When the weather cools off I will be making some proof of concept video's.

Last year, I had issues, just not finding any gold. Throw a test nugget down, no problem, but did my test- bury a 1/2 gram lead nugget at 14-16", it wouldn't hear it. At end of my season, I sent it to Woody to check out. He found 2 issues on the Minelab side. Hey! I bought this like 2 years after it came out, no fault on Minelab. He fixed it and more! I thought I had the latest mod done; his paperwork said I wanted a mod so he did more. When billing came around, we reached a favorable compromise to each.
 Went to Rye Patch NV last week with some friends. First thing I did was bury my 1/2 gram lead nugget at 14". Adjusted front gain as per instructions, then set setting like I had before; had to tweek it abit, but can hear it.
Out in the field, we hit some well hit old patches. Got 1 little one with the 4500.
 What impressed me most, I run the EVO 12", that damn 4500 ran so smooth scrappy the ground and bushes as one does when hunting 'hunted out areas'. Others complained of EMI, static electricity, not me!
 If someone were to ask me, what's the best detector out there?  I would suggest the 4500 and Woody's mod! Best bang for the buck!

We have had it tested in WA by a professional prospector and the feedback was good, i am not sure if we have some built up, ive been busy designing the 5th generation of mods. Also had the GPZ7000 mods tsted in WA, lots of extra depth but noisy, working on that project as well, call Dave on the detectormods phone number if any of the audio processors are built.
