General Discussion / GPX 6000 VS Modded 5000
« on: November 15, 2021, 12:34:53 pm »
I’m wondering what the consensus is on a Modded 5000 vs the GPX 6000.  I’m wondering if the fine gold setting on the 5000 with the front gain turned up along with the frequency adjusted to a higher frequency would produce some of the same results I’m seeing from the GPX 6000 with it ability on smaller somewhat deeper gold.  Any thoughts??

General Discussion / Mods for the 5000
« on: November 15, 2018, 08:04:28 am »
Hey Woody, just wondering if there are any additional mods for the GPX 5000 over the past 6 months or so.  Still thinking about modding my 5000 instead of spending 8 grand on a GPZ7000.

General Discussion / Similar coil for a GP or GPX
« on: March 05, 2018, 08:29:50 am »
Since I’ve been hearing about how the coil is one of the biggest differences and advantages of the GPZ 7000 All the detectors give off a transmit signal and recieve a return response, I’m wondering could a similar coil be made that would give some advantage to the GP and GPX machines.

Sure is quiet over here lately.  Must be out detecting and testing new mods.

General Discussion / Detector controls

I’m curious about the different factory and modified settings and controls on the GPX 5000.  Which ones control and adjust the transmit frequency and which ones adjust and control the receive frequency.
Thanks Woody.

General Discussion / Frequency controls

I have a question about how the tuning control on the GP and GPX detectors work in relation to the frequency control you install with your modifications like the mods you did on my GP3500.  Is the factory tuning control a frequency adjustment?  If it is does it control the transmit or receive frequency.
 Thanks Woody.

General Discussion / Frequencys

Wondering what frequency's the series of Minelab detectors from the SD2100 up to the GPX5000 operate at.

General Discussion / Battery for a GP series detector
« on: February 25, 2014, 01:54:01 pm »
Woody
I have a question.  Since the GP series detectors have an internal voltage regulator could a GPX battery be used for a GP series detector if a power cable could be made for it.  I think minelab still only uses four wires in the power cord even though the cord for a GPX series is a five prong plug.  Am I right or wrong.  I'm looking at GP series detectors as a backup and to be modded but don't like that heavy battery.
Thanks, Wes Hawkins
