Title: Detector mods Facebook group
Post by: Ian smith on January 27, 2020, 12:12:59 pm
Hi all, so today I ask on the Facebook group how many members have a modded 5000, the first reply back was don’t touch them wtf ,what I don’t understand is why be a member of the group if you don’t like the modded detector , I don’t have a modded detector yet but will be happening soon .

I don't have a 5000, but do have a modded 4500, which is great! Brother has a modded 5000 and is happy with his.

I use a modded 4500 of course, its the best detector that i have, i also have a GPZ7000 that never gets used and a SDC that never gets used. What i have found in the past are dealers hiding behind some hidden identity posting rubbish on modded detectors because they are not selling new product.. All our mods have 5 year warranty and we have modded 1000’s of detectors. We have been in business for 24 years so where are the thousands of complaints?  It is fairly obvious that there are desperate dealers and a few uneducated people behind the unfounded comments.

They should watch out making unfounded comments as the Federal court has set a precedent in obtaining ip addresses to identify and prosecute for defamation.  I have seen some of the posts and taken screen shots.

Hi woody thanks for the reply’s, one thing I would love to see on your YouTube channel is people that own one of your modded detector using and finding gold just to prove and shut up the hatred out there

I doubt that any of my customers run a video camera when detecting, and how long before they find a nugget, we have video on youtube of myself digging up nuggets, by sons finding nuggets at Beaufort with modded detectors. Even me going to the test site and doing video stuff takes a whole day and slows down working on new upgrades,

I've had Woody's mods on my 4500 for 8+years.Wish I could have gotten out more, but it was what it was. just retired; body is junk but going to try to get out more often. That being said, I have found abit of gold with my modded 4500. Could it all have been found with an unmodded 4500? Maybe. We have done some pretty clear tests that prove the modded detectors 3500,4500 and 5000 will pick up a .5 gram nugget at 16", whereas a stock won't in the same circumstances. Wish I would have had this detector 20 years ago.

Tested the latest upgrades today on a GPX, Hot ground on a 6 Oz target using 17" coil we improved the depth over a stock standard detector by 17% Improved ground balance and a lot lower noise.
