Looks like we can get 40% plus on big targets with our newest mods... 40% also on small Gold. Just need some field testing done...
This applicable to all GPX GP and SD2100 SD2200 detectors.
More information to be released via the news subsrciption on the home page.

Sounds great Woody. Hate to think what the new GPZ is going to cost.
What are your thoughts on the ZVT technology?
Peter

Most of the magic happens with the coil, you could use a DD with a SD GP GPX up the input gain and extend the pulse length and obtain similar results on large Gold targets.
GPZ-7000 I hear it is $10,000 +
-
Yeh I reckon $10k will be close to the mark. Popular though with the first batch already reserved out.
Your front end gain certainly makes a difference but seldom able to crank right up in mineralised ground. Mind you I tend to stick with a mono.
Peter
-
The newest mods will allow you to crank it up nearly all the way in hot ground.
-
Look forward to it.

Hi Woody
My SD 2100 you modded for me years ago still works great but this is good news on the GPX's. Will these new mods work with my GPX 4000?
Wes.
-
There is a good article in the March edition of GGT on Experiments with ML Detectors... I have some fantastic news coming out about new mods for 2100 and all models up to the 5000.
You want 50% depth increase on small Gold? No problem, You want substantial depth increases on Big gold deep? No problem.

Our the new mods for the 2100 in addition to the ones you did on it several years ago. What I would like to get is a voltage regulator for my 2100 that would go in line in the cable so I could use my gpx battery that is for my 4000 for my 2100. I currently have the 12 volt Reeds Lithium battery with the voltage regulator turned up to 7.4 volts but it won't last forever and I cannot get another one.
-
Everything is new and yes I can make up some regs.
-
Sounds like I just may be sending you my 2100 again to have the additional mods done on it.
If I do that I want you to build me a voltage regulator so I can use my GPX 4000 battery with my 2100.
Take to you soon
Wes.

Woody
Any idea yet what the additional mods to my 2100 would cost plus making an in line voltage regulator to run between the battery for my 4000 and my 2100.

Hi, been very busy here, sorted out how to get the sensitivity of a sdc2300 into the gpx detectors , should come close to the performance with the 2100, also super depth mods for larger gold is done.

Woody
I might be getting a GP 3500 for a really good deal. I think the 3500 was the best analog machines Minelab came out with. Would it be a better choice to have modded than my 2100 that's already been modded? I might just buy this 3500 and send it to you and have all the mods done to it instead of sending my 2100 again. Your thoughts?
Wes.
-
The 3500 is a very good adaptable design, so maybe a better choice of detector.
-
Hi Woody,
Do you have a time line on when this latest mod will ready for market? Only a few months to when the cooler weather arrives.
Peter
-
Just starting to roll them out now, tested on a SD2200 GPX4500 GPX5000 works a treat..
-
For the SD range is this mod different to another you were working on? In one of your posts you mentioned that the older machines will be sort after due to a mod you were working on.
Peter
-
It will work on all the detectors after the SD2000 , yes and yes it can all be done but like any upgrades the later the detector the more trimmings you get. I am uploading a few more videos on how to get the performance better than any standard detector.
-
Cheers Woody.

Woody
Well, I bought that used 3500 and am getting ready to pack it up and send it to you for all the new mods. Your website mentions an order form to fill out and send with the detector but I cannot find that form on your site. How do I access and get the form to come up so I can print it.
Thanks
Wes Hawkins

The website is having some work done, just send to Link Technologies PO BOX 5165 Frankston 3199 Australia
Put your name and address , email with it ..and what you want done.
-
Sounds good Woody I'll do that. My friend Mike said he called you today and is going to send his 5000 to you for mods. He saw how good my 2100 runs and I mentioned I was sending this 3500 I just bought to you. He wanted to get the 7000 and I said just send in your 5000 to Woody and get it modded.
Thanks again.
Wes.

Hi Woody,
Checked out the vid and impressive results. Love to see the next vid showing this mod with a front end gain and the effects with a mono and a double d.

I have actually improved on that performance by carrying out some component changes, found some lossy multiplexer ic's in the design 250 ohms, swapped out for 30 ohm, the noise floor drops and the signals just get more clear, still ground balances with a bucket of iron granules. I might have to seriously go out detecting, I am starting to impress myself.

Very impressive video!
-
And you can get the same results from modifying a GP 3500??
-
Absolutely, Going out to test another batch of mods, will be making some good vids for all to see.
-
Woody
My 3500 is on its way to you, mailed it off today. Do your magic.
Wes
-
Hi Woody,
Did you get out on the weekend and if so how did it go?
Peter
-
Woody
My detector should be there or arriving any day now. Can't wait to give it a try after you do the mods. I might buy one of the amps and speakers from you also.
Thanks Woody.
Wes.
-
We can out detect anything..
-
Looking forward to it. Has it arrived yet?
Wes.

G.Day Woody and all ;) Woody how close to the GPZ-7000 can you get the GPX-4500 GPX-5000 with your mods
-
A fellow in Charters Towers (Bobby), related to a well known metal detecting personality compared his modded GPX 5000 up against a SCD2300......after testing he said "I thrashed it" then a GPX7000 was produced..... "I thrashed that also" was the statement that was made.
The same result came from Halls creek with the side by side comparison.
Minelab make some very good detectors, but this new thing they have out...what can I say?, just go and read the detecting forums that are not subjected to commercial bias.
