The Modification list is growing all the time so check back to see what is new. If you want your detector modded you can post it to Link Technologies. 15 Liddesdale Avenue Frankston Victoria Australia Zip 3199. If you have any questions you can email me at vk3kcg(@)amsat.org or Phone me 61-03-90175549.
If you are posting the detector make sure that you include your details with it. I have had a couple turn up with no way to contact the sender..
Here are some tips on getting the most out of your detector.
1: Check the connectors on your coils and control box, it is very important that the metal contacts are not full of dust, have the plating worn off or are corroded. If you find that they are in a bad way you will be suffering loss of depth and noise problems. It is just about impossible to get the Gold plated connectors for Minelab detectors but I have some for sale in my Ebay shop.
2: The selection of the right type of headphones can make the difference of finding a couple of items or many items. Too many detectorists use headphones that are made for HiFi use. This is bad news as these headphones pass a lot of low frequency noise and high frequency hiss that makes your hearing fatigue. You really want a response of between 800 Hz and 3Khz .
I have managed to get some inserts that are especially made for comminication frequencies and I also have these on my Ebay Shop. (Sold Out)
I now have back in stock the best coil building wire that is available, It is the best that you can use for making coils for the Minelab Gold detectors that need specific coil properties. The Wire has a very good low loss dielectric that is as good as Teflon but you can glue it to make stable coils. I can ship this wire overseas, I have a couple of customers in the U.S that make Minelab coils .
